Embargoed areas

The entirety of Wells State Park is embargoed to competitors starting in February 2023. Any violations of the embargo (deliberate or inadvertent) should be brought to the Event Director’s attention for adjudication.

Park admission/parking fees

Wells State Park does not charge for admission or parking after Labor Day. As it is a holiday weekend, the park may be busy. Please carpool if possible.  If you are planning to bring a vehicle larger than a van, and you are not camping and parking at your campsite, then you need to reach out to the event director in advance.

Accommodation & Local Attractions

Camping: Camping is available at Wells State Park. Sites can be reserved from 4 months in advance of your arrival date at Reserve America.  We also have booked the Group Camping site: if you would like to reserve a spot ($10 per person for the weekend), email Kristin Hall (via the link in the personnel section).

Lodging: There is plentiful lodging in the area, but it is also a holiday weekend and foliage season, so we recommend booking early.

Old Sturbridge Village: “A recreated 1830s rural New England town. Explore our 200+ acres and 40 historical buildings, chat with costumed historians as they work the tasks of the past, and be inspired by the stories of early 19th-century rural New England life.” (Open on the holiday Monday, too.)

Breezelands Orchards: PYO apples 10-5 daily through Monday, 10/9.  Also a shop with already picked apples, cider donuts, and lots of local products. 1791 Southbridge Rd, Warren, MA

Brookfield Orchards: PYO pumpkins, country store with just-picked-apples and lots of local products, donuts, fudge. (No PYO apples due to the May frost.) 12 Lincoln Rd, North Brookfield, MA
