The New England Orienteering Club

Thanks to everyone who made it out to Nahanton Park this evening, we were rewarded with a lovely sunny evening and fun courses by Patrick McNeal which made the most of the varying terrain in the park, while safeguarding nesting birds and endangered plants. Today’s event featured a dead heat for first place, as well as some new racers – 2 of whom broke into the top 10.

Next Thursday is the final event of this year’s Spring series. We will be at Jamaica Pond in Boston for the finale with courses set by Pia Webb.

Results are available from the fifth meet in TESS-O Series, at Nahanton Park in Newton. You can see split times for each control by selecting a course and then clicking on ‘analysis’ on the top right. (See the details of the TESS-O Series.)

Livelox routes may be up soon -- check back.

See the current points totals for the TESS-O Series. As a reminder, the points are based on your finish position in the long sprint. 1st place earns 20 points, 2nd place 19 points and so on down to 20th place and beyond which earn 1 point. Only your top 3 events count, so even if you have completed 3 or more events with one more week to go, there is an opportunity to improve your score (with the notable exception of Keegan).

The final Thursday evening event is at Jamaica Pond on Thursday, May 27 with starts from 6-7pm. Please pre-register by Tuesday, May 25.
