We had 40 starts and 49 participants for this year's NEOC Night-O event at Nobscot Scout Reservation in Sudbury. Courses offered were beginner, short, medium and long, with an approximate color mapping of white, yellow, orange and green. The evening was cold and clear and the woods were generally quite open and runable. However, recent weeks leaf drop made it difficult to distinguish smaller trails in some areas, so the navigational challenges remained significant for many runners. While this year's event saw a small decline in total number of starts, it was my distinct impression that the enthusiasm for night-O remained unabated amongst the participants. This truly is a special event type and one I hope NEOC can continue to offer as part of the fall schedule. Thank you to everyone who helped out. The crew was small, but rock solid: Pete Lane for coordinating and managing equipment sharing with Scout-O, Ian Smith for taking a double shift at the start/finish table, Andy Mcilvaine for directing parking and Jim Paschetto for helping out with results. if I have forgotten anyone, please forgive me and know that I appreciated your help too!
